The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases rejected a lawsuit filed by a man against his ex-wife demanding that she returns a vehicle claiming that she had taken on the pretext of using it to transport their children’s stuff.
The details date back to an earlier time when the appellant filed a civil lawsuit in which he demanded that the appellee be obligated to return the vehicle to him free of traffic violations, and oblige her to pay the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and the lawyer's fees.
The appellant indicated that the appellee was his wife and they had four children but they had a divorce and that she took the vehicle under the pretext of transporting their needs to her house, and she refused to return it and committed traffic violations while she had the vehicle.
The appellant's lawyer said that the civil court is not competent to hear the case, which is within the jurisdiction of the Personal Status Court.
The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases indicated that the Personal Status Court had previously rejected the man's claim and obligated him to pay fees and expenses.
