VIDEO: Van Gogh's ‘Sunflower’ defaced with tomato soup in London

Environmental activists from the "Just Stop Oil" movement threw tomato soup on the famous "Sunflower" painting by Van Gogh displayed at the National Gallery in the British capital, London, the group announced.

Press photos published by the movement, which calls for the immediate cessation of all oil or gas projects, showed two activists throwing two cans of soup at the work, whose value is estimated at more than $84 million.

The incident occurred in a move through which the movement wanted to send a message to the British government to abandon oil and gas projects in light of the worsening climate change crisis.

A few days ago, Australia witnessed a similar protest action, as two climate activists glued their hands to the glass protection of Pablo Picasso's "Massacre in Korea" painting, displayed at a museum in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday, without causing any damage to the painting.
