The Sharjah City Municipality announced that 2,440 parking lots have been subjected to fees since the beginning of 2022.

Hamed Al Qaed, Director of the Public Parking Department in the Municipality, affirmed that the total number of public parking spaces in the city of Sharjah, which are subject to fees, amounted to about 57,000. He added that these are monitored and checked by inspection teams from 8.00am to 10.00pm, to detect any violations such as parking without paying the fees or booking more than one parking lot.

Al Qaed also indicated that the municipality has closed 53 dirt yards, since the beginning of 2022, due to the distortion of the general appearance in a number of areas, despite the availability of regular parking spaces in a sufficient number.

Sharjah City Municipality urges the public to take care of the cleanliness of their vehicles, park them in regular parking spaces in the correct way and not misuse them.

The Sharjah City Municipality exerts huge efforts every year to provide new public parking zones to residents and visitors in the city and keep up with the urban and population boom witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Municipality has annual plans to expand the public parking zones and make as much parking spaces as available to users.
