A rare snowfall turned Oman’s Jabal Shams turned it into winter wonderland and become the center of attraction on Monday.
According to an official from Oman Meteorology the phenomenon was expected to continue for a day or two.
The snowfall brought down the temperature to -1 degree Celsius, which led to the freezing rainfall.
Oman Meteorology confirmed that the mercury will hover around -2 to -5 degree Celsius in coming days with possibility of more snowfall.
Several other governorates of Oman also witnessed dip in temperatures reaching as low as 3 degrees Celsius in in the Wilayat of Al Kamil W’al Wafi in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah.
Jabal Shams is quite popular with tourists is one the the main attraction in the Sultanate of Oman.
The mountain is home to many of the rare unique wild trees which makes it more enticing to the visitors.
It is located in Oman is one of the tallest mountains in the Arab world.
