The UAE has called upon all concerned parties in Sudan to exercise restraint, and to de-escalate and work towards ending this crisis through dialogue.

The UAE Embassy in Khartoum is following with great concern the developments in Sudan and has reaffirmed the UAE’s position on the importance of de-escalation, and working towards finding a peaceful solution to the crisis between the concerned parties.

Furthermore, the embassy stresses the importance of efforts aimed at supporting the political process and achieving national consensus towards the formation of a government.

UAE-based airlines have announced cancellation of their flights to Sudan from April 15 to April 17 due to a deteriorating situation of civil unrest in Khartoum.

Emirates, flydubai and Air Arabia are closely monitoring the situation and will issue updates in due course.

“Due to a deteriorating situation of civil unrest in Khartoum, all Emirates flights to/from Khartoum (EK733/EK734) are cancelled from 15th April till 17th April,” Dubai-based Emirates said in a statement.

“In addition to the Emirates flights, flydubai flights to/from Khartoum have been cancelled from 15th April till 17th April,” the statement said.

“Customers connecting on Emirates or flydubai flights to Khartoum will not be accepted for travel at the point of origin until further notice. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers,” statement said further.

Affected customers who have booked with travel agents are requested to contact Airlines for alternative travel arrangements.

Customers who have booked directly with Emirates may contact their local office for rebooking options.
