Dubai has grown significantly as the level and quality of expertise has improved over the years as evidence of this conference with setting up two Guinness World Records.
The Emirates Plastic Surgeon Society has an excellent platform and I have a number of friends beside as part of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, we are partnered and we are all part of the global body. I am glad that the level of quality of plastic surgery is very high as many top clinics have already established their clinics here.
This stated by Dr. George Bitar, a board-certified American plastic surgeon of Lebanese descent while talking to the Gulf Today on the sideline of the 3-day ICOPLAST (international confederation of plastic surgery conference) held and concluded in Dubai.

He was one of speaker at the 3-day conference and addressed three seasons and shared his amazing experience of 21 years in the field.
Dr Bitar visited the UAE as consultant in the past as well as participated in number of conferences organized by Dubai Health Authority and other entities besides engaged with Dubai- based plastic surgeons as an educator.
The recent conference was a highly anticipated, international conference, attracting top plastic surgeons from around the world to share in their knowledge and to and to learn the latest in cosmetic surgery.

During the 3-day event, the conference break two world records and entered into the Guinness Book of World Records including, the ‘Largest Plastic Surgery Lesson’ and the ‘Most Nationalities in a Plastic Surgery Lesson’.
Dr. Bitar through his lectures, shared his techniques and experience with other plastic surgeons around the world at this conference especially his techniques in ethnic rhinoplasties and his techniques in achieving naturally beautiful results.
“Through the three talks, my main objects was to discuss my experience with my signature technique, the suture suspension neck lift, either to improve necks or to be combined to give a beautiful and natural results with a facelift. The other talk was about the transaxillary breast augmentation technique from the armpit that leaves no scars and has a quick recovery time.
Dr. Bitar has lectured in Dubai on numerous occasions including at ARABPLAST, and the Dubai International Synposium on Plastic Surgery. He is excited to return to beautiful Dubai for lecturing this time and to share in the knowledge with top plastic surgeons from around the world.
Dr. Bitar is the world renown plastic surgeon who has lectured extensively around the world and has written numerous peer reviewed articles and chapters in plastic surgery textbooks. He is the director of an advanced cosmetic surgery fellowship endorsed by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the Medical Director of the Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Washington, DC. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University in Washington DC.
He emigrated from Beirut, Lebanon at age 16 to the United States where he finished medical school at George Washington University, and finished his plastic surgery residency at the University of Virginia. Afterwords, he did an accredited aesthetics fellowship, followed by an international aesthetic surgery fellowship with the top six plastic surgeons in the world. Following his extensive training, Dr. Bitar founded the Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Washington DC and has been the medical director for the last 21 years, with a State-of-the-Art Surgery Center and a Medspa with the latest technology all under one roof. He has VIP clients traveling from all over the world seeking his cosmetic services especially for rhinoplasties, facelifts, and mommy makeovers.
Dr. Bitar is a founding member of the Association of Plastic Surgeons of Lebanese Descent (APSLD) and the immediate past chairman of the Sixth World congress that was vitually held in Washington DC in 2021.
He is looking forward to the next World Congress of APSLD that will be held in Beirut Lebanon on August 26-27, 2023 and would like to invite plastic surgeons in the region and around the world attend this much anticipated conference.
Dr. Bitar has been named Top Plastic surgeon in America by numerous publications and organizations including Castle Connolly. He has been named Top Plastic Surgeon and Top Medspa on the East Coast of the USA by Aesthetic Everything Organization. He has been named the National “Man of the Year” by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He was honored by being listed in the book “100 Influencial Lebanese around the World” and received the Lebanese Presidential Medal for his work in philanthropy and education.
Dr. Bitar is passionate about education and is always happy to help young plastic surgeons around the world in their educational endeavors, having been on the international educational committee of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery- The Aesthetic Society (ASAPS) and the director of an advanced aesthetic fellowship program at the Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Washington DC.
