Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms were witnessed in the cities and regions on Saturday. Light to moderate rain was witnessed in Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra region.

The rain led to the accumulation of water in the main streets and valleys in the areas. The municipality of Fujairah and the municipalities of Khorfakkan and Kalba mobilized its teams to withdraw the accumulated water.

Fujairah police warned against gathering near the valleys. The police appealed to the public and road users to take caution.

The Fujairah Municipality deployed its teams equipped with mechanisms in a number of main streets, and the work teams in the Kalba municipality were able to clear rainwater by withdrawing it directly, with the equipment. While the municipality of Khorfakkan followed the same approach, and was able to deal with the water pools as required.

The Fujairah Police General Command stated, on its digital platforms, that the emirate is witnessing the formation of cumulus clouds, accompanied by moderate to heavy rain, hail and active winds. And all road users must be careful while driving on the roads, keep a safe distance between vehicles, avoid going to the sea, and stay away from valleys and places where water collects.
