Separate areas of the country, on Sunday, witnessed fog formation, with moderate to heavy rain continuing with hailstones for the fourth day in a row.
This is attributed to that the region being affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an extension of upper air low-pressure system. This may lead to the formation of rainy clouds until next Tuesday, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported.
Fog formed on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road towards Barakah in Al Dhafra region in Abu Dhabi, the NCM added.
It also noted that light to medium rain fell on Ghayathi in Al Dhafra region, on Masafi, Buraq and Shawka Wasfi. It was heavy on Musaili - Buraq road, and heavy with hailstones on Asfi and separate areas in Ras Al Khaimah, and on Sheikh Khalifa Street in Fujairah, and other areas.
The NCM also indicated that the lowest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday was 25.4°C in Al Farfar area in Fujairah at 7:15 am.
The NCM appealed to individuals to be careful and exercise caution while driving during rainfall, and advised to stay away from places flooded with rainwater and surface-run-offs.
In the same context, the Dhabi Police called on drivers to be careful due to rainy weather conditions, and to adhere to the variable speed shown on the electronic signboard.
According to the expectations of the NCM, the temperatures expected on Sunday will be in the range of 33-46°C in Abu Dhabi, 34-45°C in Dubai, 33-46°C in Sharjah, 31-45°C in Ajman, 33-43°C in Umm Al Quwain, 33-45°C in Ras Al Khaimah, 31-35°C in Fujairah, 34-46°C in Al Ain, 32-47°C in Liwa and 32-45°C in Al Ruwais.
The NCM has also expected that the weather on Monday will be fair to partly cloudy in general. Low clouds will appear over the eastern coast by the morning, with a chance of cumulus clouds formation by the afternoon eastward and southward with a probability of rainfall. Humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal areas. The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times causing blowing dust during daytime at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 40 Km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Sea of Oman.
The Tuesday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general. Low clouds will appear over the eastern coast by the morning, with a chance of cumulus clouds formation by the afternoon east and southward accompanied with rainfall. The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly to northeasterly winds, and strong at times with clouds causing blowing dust and sand reducing the horizontal visibility, at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 45 Km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Low clouds will appear over the eastern coast by the morning, with a probability of cumulus clouds formation by the afternoon east and southward. Humid by night and Thursday morning over some coastal areas. The winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times, causing blowing dust during daytime at a speed of 10 – 25 reaching up to 40 Km/hr. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
