Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah ranked among the top 10 cities in the world with the lowest cost of living, in the classification conducted by the global employment solutions company “Workyard.”
Abu Dhabi ranked second, after Kuwait City, in the global list with regard to high income and low cost of living, where residents earn about $7,154 per month, on average, and spend about $873.10 on their cost of living.
In Dubai, the income reaches $7,118, with living expenses of about $1,007 per month, which makes the emirate in fourth place, after Riyadh, and Sharjah in fifth place, with an average monthly income of $5,229 and a cost of living of $741.30.
In the ranking, experts analyzed data from 20 cities to determine where people earn good money and don't have to spend as much on living costs as rent, utilities and food. This means that residents save a large part of their salaries after covering their basic expenses.
The list was topped by Kuwait City, with an average monthly income of $6,199 for a resident, with a cost of living of $752.70; this makes it the least expensive city to live in in the world. In contrast, New York comes as the most expensive city to live in, despite the high income, this is due to the high cost of living.
