For the fifth day in a row, the UAE continued sending humanitarian and relief aid and search and rescue teams to Libya to alleviate the repercussions of Storm Daniel through an airbridge in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Mohamed.
The Royal Oman Police said, “Aviation team carried out an evacuation operation for 134 people, including 102 citizens and 32 Gulf nationals, who were besieged in the valleys of Wilayat of Madha and the Lima District."
Khadim said the initiative was launched in cooperation with the competent authorities represented by the General Command of Sharjah Police, Civil Defence, the National Authority for Crisis, Emergency and Disaster Management, the Department of Social Services, and the Emergency Housing Department to support Sharjah Charity’s humanitarian role.
Hessa directed the task force to put a plan for the next phase regarding effects of rain and floods in the eastern region in terms of cleaning of the affected areas by the volunteers in cooperation with the competent authorities.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid said on the “X” platform: “All the best to everyone in this humanitarian mission, and we renew our confidence in our national team by hosting and organizing this exceptional international event in the UAE.”
