His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has directed the provision of Dhs50 million in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, through Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).

The aid comes as part of the UAE's policy to provide urgent relief and assistance to vulnerable populations and those in need around the world in times of crisis.

Earlier in the day, the UAE sent a plane carrying urgent medical aid to the city of Al-Arish in Egypt, to be brought into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, in order to provide relief support to the brotherly Palestinian people.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations, said that this initiative comes within the continuous efforts undertaken by the UAE to provide relief supplies to the brotherly Palestinian people in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions they are going through, stressing that this initiative and other initiatives reflect the positions of the state.
