As the clock struck 12, Dubai erupted in a kaleidoscope of light and excitement, marking the arrival of 2024 with a vigor unrivaled by any other. This year, the emirate's New Year's Eve celebration took on a special significance, pulsating with an infectious energy fueled by record-breaking tourism and a palpable economic surge.
The crown jewel of this festive frenzy lies in the heart of Dubai, where hotels overlooking the iconic Burj Khalifa boasted a staggering 100 per cent occupancy. Every room with a view of the world's tallest building has been snapped up by eager celebrants, testament to the unparalleled allure of witnessing the Burj Khalifa's annual fireworks extravaganza.
But the magic extends far beyond the waterfront.
Throughout the city, hotels report occupancy rates soaring above 90 per cent, with every corner buzzing with the arrival of international tourists. From families seeking festive fun to thrill-seeking adventurers, Dubai has become a magnet for global revelers, drawn by its promise of an unforgettable New Year's Eve experience.
Some of the shows taking place in the country this year aim to record new records in the Guinness Book of World Records. Specifically, the show organized by the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi, and the show that takes place on the waterfront extending between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village in Ras Al Khaimah.
In Abu Dhabi, at the beginning of 2024, 10 different locations in the emirate will witness amazing fireworks displays that catch the attention of the public, to enjoy the holiday in a wonderful festive atmosphere filled with joy and fun, as an expression of happiness in the new year.
Fireworks displays decorated 10 sites and landmarks in Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Corniche, Al Maryah Island - The Galleria, Yas Bay Waterfront, Al Hudayriat Island, the public park in Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafra, Ghayathi behind the Tam Center, Al Mughira Beach in the harbour, and the Liwa International Festival (Tel Mereb 2024), and Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, in addition to the show at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba.
While the Emirate of Dubai will witness fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve in 32 locations, the most prominent of which are: the Burj Khalifa area, “The Beach,” “Blue Waters” (JBR), “The Palm Island,” “Kite Beach,” and others.
The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced the provision of special offers and special services to the public to enjoy New Year’s events on marine transportation means, which include: “Dubai Ferry”, “Abra” and water taxi, to watch the moment of celebrations across the waterfront of the Emirate of Dubai.
