An e-scooter rider gets booked for traffic law violation.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, said that the Dubai Police were able to seize 383 motorcycles and electric scooters, and issue many violations against their drivers as a result of negligence and non-compliance with riding rules since the beginning of Ramadan.

The bicycles, motorbikes and e-scooters must adheres to the roads and paths on which they are allowed to ride, and their riders respecting traffic laws, wearing a helmet, wearing a reflective vest, and installing a bright, reflective white light at the front of the bicycle, and a bright, reflective red light at the back, and bicycles must be equipped with working brakes.

Major General Abdullah Al Ghaithi called on bike drivers to adhere to traffic rules and instructions, and to adhere to the roads and paths on which riding is permitted, as well as to adhere to all security and safety requirements, guidelines and regulations referred to in the areas in which driving is permitted to ensure the protection of people.

He also appealed to community members when observing negative phenomena or dangerous behaviors to report them through the “Police Eye” service via the Dubai Police application on smart phones, or by calling the “We are all police” service on the number 901.
