President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received condolences over the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan for the second consecutive day from world leaders and their delegations, as well as a number of Their Highnesses the Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, Sheikhs, ministers, officials, citizens, and representatives of government agencies and diplomatic missions in the country.

Others who offered their condolences to Sheikh Mohamed included Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Media Council; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and CEO Emirates Airline; Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council; and Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Mohamed received condolences at Qasr Al Mushrif in Abu Dhabi from King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani, Representative of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and the accompanying delegation; and Jassim Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Sheikh Mohamed received a cable of condolences over the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.

King Salman expressed his deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to Sheikh Mohamed and the Al Nahyan family on the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun, praying to Allah  Almighty to grant him eternal paradise.

Sheikh Mohamed received a similar cable of condolences from Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Mohamed also received telephone calls on Friday from King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Türkiye; and Najib Mikati, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon, expressing their condolences on the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun.

During the calls, they also offered their condolences to all members of the Al Nahyan family and the people of the UAE, asking God Almighty to bestow peace and mercy upon the late Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed and grant patience and solace to all at this time of grief.

Sheikh Mohamed underscored his appreciation to the leaders for the sincere sentiment expressed towards the late Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed, stressing the strength of the relations that unite the UAE with their countries and their shared keenness to further bolster ties.

Moreover, Sheikh Mohamed accepted condolences from Luigi Di Maio, EU Special Representative for the Gulf region; Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation; and Dr Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Alongside Sheikh Mohamed, condolences were accepted by the brothers of the late Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed and his sons, as mourners prayed for God Almighty to bestow His mercy on the late Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed and asked that he may rest in peace.

Mourners also prayed for his family, relatives, and members of the Al Nahyan family to be granted patience and solace as they recalled the late Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed’s virtues and renowned wisdom, sincerity, and generosity during his many decades of service to his country.
