Dubai Police returned to a European tourist his wallet before he even realized that he had lost it while he was on his way back to his home country, according to Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of Dubai Tourist Police, at the General Department of Criminal Investigations.

A taxi driver called the police and told them he found a wallet that belonged to a man who was heading to the airport, he added.

The work team at Dubai Tourist Police received the report and communicated with the airport accordingly, as a result of which they managed to identify the plane the tourist boarded and return the wallet to him, he said.

The tourist said he was very happy to have his wallet back, as it contained money and very important papers.

Al Jallaf praised the efforts exerted by the work team, which dealt with the report most professionally. He also praised the honesty of the taxi driver, who co-operated with Sharjah Police and rushed to hand the wallet over to the police.

He called on the public to communicate with Dubai Tourist Police for help, inquiry and submission of comments and suggestions via touristpolice@dubaipolice.gov.ae , calling 901 or via Dubai Police smart app.
