The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has identified eight steps to renew the passports of Emiratis abroad through its website www.icp.gov.ae or the UAEICP smart app.

The ICP made it possible to renew the passport easily through smart channels by following four steps.

Step 1: Login your account using digital ID

Step 2: Choose the service of renewing passports for Emiratis abroad

Step 3: Submit the application, review and update the retrieved data and pay the fees

Step 4: Receive the original passport by choosing the service of delivery to the specified address - UAE Embassy.

It also specified four following points to remember when applying for passport renewal.

1. Make sure that the data entered in the registration application are accurate before paying the fees to avoid delay in completing the transaction.

2. Accurate data of the registration application ensures speedy and timely completion of your transaction.

3. Make sure that the phone number, email, and delivery method data included in the registration application are correct.

4. The data entered are subject to the ICP’s review and audit.

The ICP calls on Emiratis abroad, who wish to obtain more information related to the passport renewal abroad or any other services provided by the ICP, to call 600522222.

Meanwhile, the UAE Digital Government called on Emiratis planning to travel abroad to make sure of the type and validity of the passport and visa requirements to the intended destination, to read the important instructions provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website and to review the local laws of the country of destination.
