Various areas of the country witnessed precipitation with varying intensities on Monday and Tuesday. This was accompanied by a drop in temperatures, resulting from the prevailing meteorological conditions, which are expected to persist until Thursday, due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone (TCZ), which is extending towards the country.

This is occurring concurrently with the advancement of surface depressions from the south and the upper east, accompanied by the flow of clouds towards the region and the country, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The rain fell on Masaken, Wahili, Al Dhahir, Al Sad and scattered areas in Al Ain, on Abu Al Abyad Island, Al Samha, Al Shahama, Al Rahba and other areas in Abu Dhabi City, on Athan in Ras Al Khaimah, on Al Tawin in Fujairah, on Al Dhaid and Al Madam in Sharjah, on Al Lisaili in Dubai and various other areas in the UAE.

The highest precipitation levels in the UAE until Tuesday afternoon were recorded at 37.4 mm in Al Ain, while the lowest temperature in the UAE on the same day morning was recorded at 21°C in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, at 08:00 am.

The NCM is monitoring the situation around the clock and continuing to provide updates through its accounts on social media, it said, urging the public to adhere to the bulletins and reports issued by the Centre and to refrain from circulating rumours.

The Abu Dhabi Police also call on drivers to exercise caution in light of the current weather conditions, which have resulted in the implementation of variable speed limits as indicated on electronic signage.

The NCM has also expected that the weather on Wednesday will be partly cloudy and occasionally dusty, with the potential for the formation of cumulus clouds in some eastern and southern areas in the afternoon. Temperatures will gradually rise, and winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate speed, and occasionally active, causing dust. Sea conditions will be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

The Thursday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy and occasionally dusty. There is a possibility of cumulus clouds forming in the eastern and southern areas in the afternoon. Winds are expected to be southeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and may be gusty and dust-laden, reaching speeds of 10 to 40 km/h. The sea is expected to be light to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The weather on Friday will be partially cloudy with occasional dust storms. In the morning, low-lying clouds are expected to form along the east coast, with the potential for the development of cumulus clouds in some eastern and southern areas during the afternoon. Winds are expected to be southeasterly to north-easterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and occasionally gusty, reaching speeds of 10 to 40 km/h. The sea is expected to see light to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The NCM has also forecast that the weather on Saturday will be clear to partly cloudy at times. Cumulus clouds are expected to form in the southern areas, and winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate. These winds may occasionally be active and dusty, with speeds reaching 15 to 25 km/h. The sea will exhibit light to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
