Consul General pays tribute to founding fathers of Pakistan, urges expats to respect UAE laws

A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai, to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan.

The Independence Day event was attended by Hussain Muhammad, Consul General, and many Pakistani community members and their families. Independence Day’s messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion.

On this auspicious day, Hussain and other Pakistani community members pay tribute to the visionary founding fathers and valiant veterans, who rendered supreme sacrifices in their unwavering pursuit of freedom and self-determination. Their unrelenting spirit and sacrifices continue to inspire generations. While paying tributes to the founding fathers of Pakistan, the Consul General said that Pakistan has all the potential to overcome challenges.

Hussain emphasised that Pakistan and UAE enjoy exceptionally cordial and brotherly relations which will further strengthen in future. He added that UAE is home to more than 1.7 million Pakistanis working in various sectors who have played a key role in the progress and development of this country. “I urge all Pakistani expats residing in UAE to obey and respect the local laws, norms and traditions of the host country and contribute positively to the society,” said the Consul General. During the ceremony volunteers sang Pakistan national songs and school children made presentation of folk dance and music.

Also during the day, Google has celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day with a special doodle artwork featuring the country’s national fruit “mango.” "Have a mango-nificent Independence Day, Pakistan!”
