Under the directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) will be commencing the test broadcasting of the Holy Quran channel from Sharjah as of Friday, Aug.16, 2024 under the slogan "Be with Allah and Allah will Be with you."

The introduction of the Holy Quran channel comes within the SBA's initiative to expand its media and educational outreach. The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority presents five TV channels (Sharjah TV, Sharjah Sports, Al Sharqiya from Kalba, Al Wusta from Dhaid, and Sharjah 2) along with four radio stations (Sharjah Radio, Holy Quran Radio, Plus 95 Radio, and Watar Radio). Additionally, it operates the Maraya application and the Sharjah Media Training Centre.

NON-STOP BROADCASTING

The new media platform established by the SBA is dedicated to non-stop broadcasting of the Holy Quran. It features a daily “Khatmah” recitation by renowned reciters, providing audience with the convenience of accessing Quranic recitations 24/7.

Furthermore, the channel will be broadcasting Friday prayers weekly, Tarawih prayers, and Qiyam prayers live during the Holy Month of Ramadan. It will also feature exclusive Quran recitations and a range of educational programmes, which are tailored to enhance understanding of the Quranic knowledge and jurisprudence, delivering simplified yet comprehensive content to the audience, making it easier for them to comprehend and absorb religious concepts.

For his part, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, stated that the support of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, for the establishment of the channel reflects importance of promoting teachings of the Holy Quran.

“The initiative aims to provide a specialised media platform to deliver purposeful and inspiring religious content. In addition, it seeks to set a benchmark in religious media, not only within the UAE, but across the Islamic world, with the goal of making a positive impact on viewers and society at large,” Al Ghaithi added.

He also hailed the national media professionals and the SBA's advanced technical capabilities, which contributed to the launch of this channel. It is expected to excel in broadcasting the most melodious Quran recitations, serving as a daily companion for audiences in the UAE and the Islamic world.

The channel will be broadcast on the Nilesat satellite at the frequency of 11013 vertical, symbol rate 27500, and QPSK modulation with a 5/6 error correction rate. It can also be accessed via Etisalat Live on channel 579.
