Rain hits parts of UAE, lowest temperature recorded at 25.4°C

Partosof the UAE on Staurday witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall with hail due to the country being influenced by an eastern surface low-pressure system, accompanied by a high-pressure system in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Moderate rains fell in different areas of Al Ain city in Abu Dhabi, light rains in Masafi, heavy rains in Asfnai and Wadi Al Ajili in Ras Al Khaimah, on the road to Khor Fakkan towards Seihi, Gomaa Market in Fujairah, and on Al Watan Street.

Heavy rains with small hail also lashed Khadeira and Fili in Sharjah and other scattered areas in the UAE.

The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Saturday morning was 25.4°C in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, at 02:00, while the second lowest temperature was 32.5°C in Farfar.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects Sunday's weather to be fair to partly cloudy at times, with low clouds forming on the eastern coast and the possibility of some convective cloud formation in the east and south during the afternoon, accompanied by rainfall.

On Sunday, winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, occasionally stirring dust, with speeds of 10 to 25, amounting to 40 kilometres/h. The sea will be calm in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Monday's weather is expected to be generally clear, partly cloudy at times, with clouds forming in the east and south during the afternoon, possibly convective. Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly, light to moderate, occasionally stirring dust, with speeds of 10 to 25, amounting to 40 kilometres/h.

The sea on Monday is expected to be calm in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Tuesday's weather is expected to be generally clear, partly cloudy at times, and humid at night and on Wednesday morning along the coasts.

Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly, light to moderate, occasionally stirring up dust, with speeds of 10 to 25, amounting to 35 kilometres/h. The sea will be calm in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

According to the NCM, Wednesday's weather is expected to be generally clear, partly cloudy at times, with clouds forming in the east, and humid at night and on Thursday morning in some coastal and inland areas. Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly, light to moderate, occasionally active, especially in the north and east, stirring up dust, with speeds of 10 to 25, amounting to 35 kilometres/h. The sea will be calm in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The NCM urged all to exercise caution while driving during rainfall and advised them to stay away from water-gathering areas and valleys currents.

Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists to be cautious due to the rainy weather and adhere to the variable speed limits displayed on the electronic information boards.
