The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced the automatic opening of a traffic file for young people upon reaching the age of 18, when he or she can obtain a driving licence, as part of the “Zeroing Government Bureaucracy' programme” launched by the United Arab Emirates.

The MoI clarified that this service is among 11 new government services which have had their procedures streamlined, aiming to accelerate the system of services provided to the public, as part of the bundle of services in the vehicle and driving licensing sector in record time.

The ministry indicated through a video on the X platform that these services include: issuing a replacement number plate, adding the driver's licence and vehicle registration to Apple Wallet, activating the transfer of digital certificates, changing ownership data through digital notifications, easily exchanging licenses from other countries, obtaining a parking permit for people of determination, issuing vehicle ownership, simplifying vehicle transfer services and toll services, eliminating the mandatory printing and documentation of driver's licenses and vehicle registrations and adopting the electronic version, and transferring vehicle ownership and digital scrapping through a single service."
