Mohammed Bin Rashid launches national programme ‘Plant the UAE’ fulfilling Zayed's will

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the launch of the national programme 'Plant the UAE'.

This initiative is intended to perpetuate the will of the late Sheikh Zayed, who was instrumental in greening the UAE through the promotion of agriculture.

His Highness, on Sunday via the X platform, said, “My fellow citizens, the national programme, which was launched today, is designed to stimulate and invigorate the agricultural sector in the UAE. This initiative was unveiled at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet at Al Marmoom Farms.”

He added that the national programme, "Plant the UAE," intends to perpetuate the legacy of Zayed and his commitment to cultivating, greening, and developing the agricultural sector in the UAE. The national programme has the objective of disseminating the culture of agriculture throughout the educational system and the general public, particularly among the younger generations.

Sheikh Mohammed also said, “The Plant the UAE programme aims to enhance the country's food security, advance the development of agricultural technologies, establish new collaborative partnerships with the private sector and expand the green space in the country.
 
Within this programme, the Cabinet has approved establishment of the National Agricultural Centre, which is anticipated to serve as a pivotal driver of the sector in the forthcoming period through providing technical and technological support, facilitate the formation of partnerships, establish new initiatives and institutions, and offer product support.”

His Highness also said, “Planting the UAE is will of the late Sheikh Zayed. It serves as a cornerstone for the country's continued prosperity.”

He underscored the importance of collective action in safeguarding the land and its resources, and invited all stakeholders to contribute to this national endeavour through innovative ideas, projects, and initiatives.
