Woman fined Dhs20,000 for insulting another through the WhatsApp in UAE

The Al Ain Court of First Instance ordered a woman to pay Dhs20,000 to another woman, after she threatened her through the WhatsApp app and used the internet for an illegal purpose.

The latter filed a lawsuit against the woman, requesting that she be obliged to compensate her for the material and moral damage she incurred to the amount of Dhs100,000, in addition to the fees and expenses.

She clarified that she was convicted of that act in a criminal case, which was upheld on appeal.

The court clarified that the appellee's mistake was proved, and it resulted in damage to the plaintiff, including psychological and material pain.

The court then obliged the appellee to compensate the plaintiff with Dhs20,000 for all the material and moral damage.
