Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an African gang of three people to life jail to be followed by deportation from the country after serving their sentences, for their conviction of possessing and trafficking in drugs.
The gangsters fell into the hands of the police through a well-planned trap while they were selling drugs to an informant from Anti-Narcotics Department of the Police.
In detail, confidential information was received by the Dubai Police stating that the suspects were trafficking in drugs in Al Baraha area in Dubai. A police man stated that a team from the Anti-Narcotics Department communicated with one of the suspects and requested a quantity of drugs for Dhs500.
The police man added in the interrogations that he agreed with the first suspect on a place and time to receive the drugs. That suspect arrived with the other suspects at the specified time in a vehicle, where the first went out of it and headed to the police man, asking him for the agreed-upon money and after receiving it, he handed over the drugs to him.
The police man stated that a team from the police arrested the suspect upon entering the vehicle, which contained the others.
Fourteen bags of drugs prepared for sale and trafficking were found inside the vehicle and all the suspects were arrested red-handed.
The report of the Forensic Laboratory affirmed that the seized material was 14 plastic bags containing a narcotic herbal substance.
On being interrogated, one of the suspects admitted that he worked for one of the two others as a mediator between the seller and the buyer for a monthly salary. The other suspects admitted to trafficking and selling drugs to an informant from the police without knowing his identity.
