Fog formation and low horizontal visibility were observed in various areas of the country for a period of five hours, commencing at 4:30 am and concluding at 9:30 am on Tuesday.
This was a consequence of the country being affected by weak surface pressure distributions, accompanied by an extension of high pressure in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
Fog formation was observed in Arjan in Abu Dhabi, Bu Hasa, Madinat Zayed and Tarfa in the Al Dhafra region.
Additionally, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 15.4°C in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 6:00 am, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The Abu Dhabi Police urge drivers to exercise caution due to the reduced horizontal visibility caused by fog. They have also advised drivers to adhere to the variable speed limits displayed on electronic and road signs, in order to maintain safety for all road users.
The National Center of Meteorology expects that the weather on Wednesday will be predominantly clear, with intermittent cloud cover, a decline in temperatures, and high humidity at night and on Thursday morning.
There is a possibility of fog or light fog forming in some coastal and inland areas. The winds are northeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate. They are occasionally active, with speeds reaching 25 km/h on the sea in the west.
The sea will be light to medium, with turbulent conditions observed in the Arabian Gulf late at night and in the Sea of Oman.
The NCM also expects that the weather on Thursday will be clear to partly cloudy, with the potential for cloud cover to develop in the eastern and northern regions.
Additionally, humidity levels are anticipated to rise during the nighttime hours and on Friday morning, with the possibility of fog or light fog formation in some inland areas.
Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly and northwesterly, with speeds ranging from light to moderate, and occasionally reaching speeds of 15 to 25 km/h, with occasional gusts up to 40 km/h.
