Coinciding with the 43rd Edition of Sharjah Internarial Book Fair, Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD” organised a number of seminars from November 6 to 17 to help spread information, expertise and experiences related to economic work.
This falls with the Department’s priorities to organise, develop and enhance the concept of knowledge among employees and citizens and to improve the methodology of knowledge exchange among members of society in general.
A number of entities participated in these seminars, such as Sharjah Police, Sharjah Businesswomen Council, Sharjah Airport Free Zone Authority, Dubai Police, and Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurship "RUWAD".
Commenting on these seminars, Dr. Ahmed Al Ali, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Department at SEDD, confirmed that the Department participates periodically in Sharjah International Book Fair, as the exhibition constitutes a knowledge and cultural platform for communicating with a wide segment of the public, and out of its concerns to expand the circle of economic culture, entrepreneurship and consumer protection.
Al Ali added that these seminars support and promote the sustainable cultural development efforts, which will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing the concept of cultural and economic movement in society.
Regarding the seminars that the Department organised, Dr. Ahmed pointed out that SEDD and RUWAD organised a series of seminars including “Legal Protection for the Contractor through Social Media”, “Businesswomen in Sharjah.”, “Ambitions”, “Pitfalls toward Successful Business”, “Young Business Stars”, “Assessing Risks of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing in UAE”, “Role of Quality in Achieving Excellence and Sustainability” and "Transforming Information into Knowledge that Impacts the Market”.
These seminars aim to shed light on a number of economic and cultural topics that contribute to introducing innovative economic development concepts and systems to achieve the best results.
Also, these seminars contribute to raising cultural knowledge of innovation and creative development and learning about the laws and regulations included in the world of digitalisation and technology, in addition to highlighting the role of economic development in raising the quality of life and ensuring economic and social stability for the individual.
