Ducab Group has strengthened its commitment to environmental conservation through its ‘Ducab Plants for Progress’ initiative, launched in partnership with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).
This initiative aligns with the “Plant the Emirates” National Programme, introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as part of the “Year of Sustainability.”
The initiative aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices, expand green spaces across the UAE, and advance the nation’s agricultural sector.
Through this collaboration, the initiative seeks to support agricultural development, safeguard the environment, and strengthen sustainable national food security.
The initiative, launched as part of the “Ducab Ducare,” underscores Ducab Group’s leadership in environmental preservation and its commitment to supporting the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative, both aimed at reducing carbon emissions by promoting biodiversity and preserving ecosystem stability.
Additionally, the initiative supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9).
The launch of the initiative was attended by Alia Abdul Rahim Al Harmoudi, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Sustainable Communities sector at MOCCAE; Othaibah Saeed Al Qaydi, Director of the Municipal Affairs Department at MOCCAE; Mohammad Almutawa, Group CEO of Ducab; and Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of EEG.
Alia Al Harmoudi said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of Ducab’s initiative to plant 1,000 trees as part of the ‘Plant the Emirates’ National Programme, which underlines the UAE’s commitment to advancing agriculture and embedding sustainable agricultural practices in the lifestyles of citizens. We thank Ducab and Emirates Environmental Group for launching this initiative, which is a significant contribution by the private sector in supporting the Ministry’s efforts to promote sustainability across the nation.”
Mohammad Almutawa, Group CEO of Ducab, said, “The initiative embodies the forward-looking vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to embed sustainable practices as a fundamental part of the daily life of the people.”
