The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expects rains and a noticeable drop in temperatures starting from Wednesday evening until next Friday, as the region is influenced by an eastern surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system accompanied by a relatively cold air mass and an upper-level air current from the west, leading to cloud formations over scattered areas of the country.
The NCM added that Wednesday's weather will be partly cloudy in general, with increasing clouds over scattered areas and a chance of rain, especially at night, in the west and on the islands, and will be humid at night and on Thursday morning in some inland areas.
Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, light to moderate during the day, gradually turning at night to northwesterly, active to strong at times, especially over the sea, with speeds of 15 to 25, amounting to 45 kilometres/h and the sea will be calm to moderate during the day, gradually becoming rough at night in the Arabian Gulf, and calm in the Sea of Oman.
The NCM indicated that Thursday's weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times in some northern and coastal areas with rainfall and a drop in temperatures.
Winds will be northwesterly, moderate to active, and strong at times, especially over the sea, stirring dust on land and reducing horizontal visibility, with speeds of 15 to 30, amounting to 50 kilometres/h. The waves will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Sea of Oman.
