Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, in the presence of Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, attended the Commemoration Day ceremony at Wahat Al Karama in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Humaid laid a wreath at the monument in recognition of the sacrifices and bravery of the UAE’s heroes and presented the Martyr’s Medal to the families of heroes who have sacrificed their lives to ensure the security and safety of the UAE.
The ceremony featured fighter jets flying in formation to the shape of the Unknown Soldier, recognising the sacrifices of those who have given their life for the homeland.
The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Omar Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Sheikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO); Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; and Major General Staff Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with a number of Sheikhs, ministers, high-ranking officials, top brass and families of the martyrs as well as a number of diplomats accredited to the country and guests.
Sheikh Humaid affirmed that observing Commemoration Day honours and immortalises the UAE’s martyrs who selflessly answered the call of their nation and sacrificed their lives to ensure the nation’s flag remains aloft.
Sheikh Humaid stated that the UAE remembers the sacrifices of its brave martyrs every day and will never forget their heroic deeds, carried out with honour and dignity to defend the nation and protect its sovereignty.
He emphasised that history will record the heroism of UAE martyrs across civil, military, and humanitarian fields, highlighting their exemplary national loyalty and unwavering commitment to their homeland.
Sheikh Humaid said, “On this day, we remember every Emirati who gave his life defending the homeland. We pray to Almighty Allah to grant the martyrs eternal peace among the righteous and martyrs. We also express our profound gratitude for their ultimate sacrifice.”
He added, “Today, we extend our appreciation and support to the families and loved ones of the martyrs. We deeply value their patience, resilience, and steadfast national loyalty. The UAE will never forget its devoted sons, whose sacrifices have etched a lasting national legacy for future generations to honour.”
Sheikh Humaid further remarked, “The people of the UAE stand united today in reverence for our martyrs, expressing pride in their unparalleled heroism, which will forever remain a badge of honour for the sons of the nation.”
Recently, Sheikh Humaid accompanied by Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, inaugurated the exhibition “A Glimpse of the Zayed National Museum: Preserving Our Rich History” at the Ajman Museum.
The exhibition is organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and the Zayed National Museum, in collaboration with the Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD). It will run from November 28 until May 29, 2025.
The opening was attended by Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD), and Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Municipality and Planning.
The exhibition celebrates the values instilled by the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and their continued impact on the development of the UAE and its people, along with his vision for preserving our collective heritage.
