Ajman Police seized a number of vehicles on Ajman Beach Street for violating traffic rules and regulations during the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations.
The vehicles were impounded and the drivers arrested and referred to Al Madinah Comprehensive Police Station.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Humaid Bin Hindi, Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, Ajman Police impounded the vehicles for violating the traffic law and Eid Al Etihad celebration rules and regulations.
He added that the drivers were arrested for driving their vehicles recklessly, causing disturbance and noise, making fundamental changes to the vehicle’s engine, violating vehicle decoration regulations and engaging in illegal and inappropriate activities during the Eid Al Etihad celebrations.
Other violations included the use by drivers and passengers of spraying tools and hanging out of the vehicle’s roof and windows, he said.
The drivers whose vehicles were impounded violated the traffic law, despite the intensive awareness campaigns launched on mass media about Eid Al Etihad celebration regulations, he added, noting that their behavior did not reflect the UAE’s bid to respect the law and maintain public safety.
Stressing the necessity for abiding by the traffic law, Bin Hindi warned that Ajman Police would be on the lookout for anyone who violates traffic rules and regulations and jeopardizing the lives of others.
