Dubai Police have made remarkable achievements in volunteer work over the past five years, recording 1,254,761 volunteer hours. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of both Dubai Police employees and external volunteers of various nationalities who registered through the Dubai Police Volunteering Platform.
The Dubai Police Volunteering Platform documented 422,589 volunteer hours in 2024, 395,083 hours in 2023, 200,820 hours in 2022, 150,810 hours in 2021, and 85,459 hours in 2020.
Over the past five years, 54,388 volunteers from Dubai Police have participated in various volunteer events, including 10,931 volunteers in 2024, 9,046 in 2023, 15,538 in 2022, 17,318 in 2021, and 1,555 in 2020. Additionally, there have been 6,375 external volunteers over the past three years, with 2,928 in 2024, 1,093 in 2023, and 2,354 in 2022.
This announcement coincides with International Volunteer Day, celebrated annually on December 5, which aims to recognize and thank individuals worldwide who dedicate their time and efforts to humanitarian volunteer work.
In a celebratory statement, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, emphasised the Force's commitment to celebrating this global event, which encourages individual and community involvement in humanitarian efforts to uplift society.
He noted that under the leadership of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, the Force have consistently been keen to promote the spirit of volunteering among its employees and community partners.
"This initiative reflects a strong belief in the vital role of volunteers in their communities and the positive impact of volunteering on societal development. It fosters teamwork and cultivates principles of constructive collaboration," he continued.
Brigadier Al Mansouri emphasised that the Dubai Police Volunteering Platform has empowered community members, including employees and external volunteers, to engage in various opportunities across several areas, including humanitarian, social, security, and criminal fields.
He affirmed that the Dubai Police Volunteer Platform has offered plenty of opportunities and experiences for volunteers to engage in meaningful work and provide humanitarian services across various sectors within the community, raising awareness and fostering a culture of volunteering among the wider society.
Al Mansouri also indicated that the volunteers have actively participated in various initiatives introduced by the platform, which have played a pivotal role in realizing Dubai Police's strategic goals of enhancing safety, security, and community happiness and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
He commended the contributions of both internal and external volunteers who actively participate in diverse activities, highlighting the Force's commitment to recognising these volunteers for their valuable contributions to the community and humanitarian efforts.
