Ras Al Khaimah Police Air Wing, in collaboration with the Search and Rescue Section, rescued two Asians – a man and a woman – who had reportedly been exhausted while climbing the summit of one of the emirate’s mountains at an altitude of 3,000 feet.
According to Ras Al Khaimah Police, a report from the operations room was received by their Air Wing Section stating that two tourists – a man and a woman – had been stranded on the summit of a mountainous area in Ras Al Khaimah. An Air Wing helicopter rushed to the scene where the two tourists were located, given the necessary support and airlifted.
Ras Al Khaimah Police called on mountain goers and mountaineering enthusiasts in the emirate to take precautions when walking between mountains and valleys and to avoid going into rugged areas or climbing high summits so as not to endanger their lives and make it difficult for them to be rescued.
