Sharjah Police are investigating a murder where an Emirati in his thirties was stabbed to death in Al Suyoh area on Wednesday.
The operations room at Sharjah Police received a report at 12:40am on Thursday stating that a 27-year-old Emirati had been stabbed in Al Suyoh area.
Police patrols and national ambulance rushed to the scene of the incident, where a young man was found with three stab wounds in his foot. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries, while the perpetrator fled the scene of the incident.
In less than 12 hours, Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department teams were able to identify two suspects for their involvement in the murder and arrest them.
Initial investigations indicated that a dispute broke out between the victim and two brothers, all Emiratis in their thirties. As a result of the dispute, one of the two brothers assaulted the victim with a knife and stabbed him directly in the foot.
On interrogation, the perpetrator confessed to his crime, while the remaining procedures were being completed for the case file to be referred to the public prosecution for further investigations and the necessary legal measures to be taken accordingly.
Sharjah Police called on members of society to resolve disputes amicably and avoid violence, stressing the importance of co-operating with security authorities by reporting any disputes that cannot be settled amicably with a view to maintaining security and stability among members of society.
