The Dubai Events Security Committee has announced its readiness to ensure seamless traffic management and public safety for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Comprehensive measures have been implemented to facilitate movement across the emirate, focusing on major event areas like Downtown Dubai.
Traffic Measures and Public Guidance
Dubai Police will deploy additional officers to manage traffic flow, enforce road closures during peak times, and ensure pedestrian safety in crowded areas.
The committee has urged the public to plan by arriving early and using public transport options such as the metro and shuttle buses. Dubai Police and RTA official communication channels will provide live updates on road conditions.
Public Support Services
To assist celebrants, Dubai Police has set up 33 support tents across key event areas, including 19 in Downtown Dubai. These tents will offer “Lost and Found” services, enabling visitors to report lost items or return found belongings. The service is also accessible online via the Dubai Police website.
Additionally, the tents will provide first aid, general inquiries, and the ability to file criminal reports if necessary. The committee emphasised the importance of contacting 901 for non-emergencies and 999 for urgent matters.
Maritime Safety with “Sail Safely”
Dubai Police encouraged those celebrating on the water to register with the “Sail Safely” service via the Dubai Police app. This tool allows users to submit their travel plans and provides emergency assistance through an SOS feature, ensuring swift response times in case of distress.
Labour Celebrations Across Three Sites
To alleviate congestion, Dubai authorities have designated three celebration venues for workers in Muhaisnah, Al Quoz, and Jebel Ali, each with a capacity of 10,000 attendees. These venues feature entertainment stages, fireworks display screens, cultural performances, and prize giveaways, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees.
