Dubai Civil Defence teams successfully extinguished a fire that had broken out in a boat in the Dubai Harbour area near a petrol station. There were no reported casualties.
Specifically, the Dubai Civil Defence Operations Room received a report at 11:50am on Sunday that a fire had broken out in a boat, and Dubai Harbour Fire Station was immediately mobilised as the first responder and competent authority.
According to a Dubai Civil Defence source, teams arrived at the scene within three minutes, where it was ascertained that the fire had originated in a boat in proximity to the fuel station. Specialist teams initiated evacuation and firefighting operations in a timely and efficient manner.
The field commander of the incident reported that the fire had been contained and that the process of cooling had commenced. He confirmed that there had been no injuries and that the site would be handed over to the relevant authorities after the cooling operations were completed in accordance with approved procedures.
Recently, a fire was reported to have broken out in a warehouse situated in close proximity to Abu Bakr Al Siddiq metro station in Deira.
Individuals residing in the vicinity of the incident reported that it occurred at approximately 9:30am. Firefighters promptly responded to the incident and took action to control the fire. In footage of the incident, thick clouds of smoke could be observed billowing into the air as at least three fire squads responded to the emergency.
At the time of writing, a statement from Dubai Civil Defence regarding the cause of the fire and the time of its extinguishment is yet to be released.
In January this year, Civil Defence teams in Dubai were able to control a fire that broke out in a warehouse in Al Quoz Industrial Area 1 with no injuries. An official spokesperson reported that the operations room of the Dubai Civil Defencce received a tip-off on Monday morning, stating that a warehouse locating in Al Quoz industrial area caught fire.
Instantly, a team from Al Quoz station (as a first responder and a competent authority) rushed to the scene. They found that the warehouse contained flammable material and the fire was massive. Accordingly, support teams from the Al Barsha Fire Station were dispatched to help control the fire, the spokesperson said.
He added that the field commander of the incident announced that that the teams were able to control and extinguish the fire within 30 minutes. This was followed by the cooling operations, he added, affirming that no injuries were reported. After that, the competent authorities proceeded with examining the scene to uncover the reasons of the fire, the spokesperson added.
