Various areas of the country experienced rains of varying intensity and a noticeable drop in temperature, with the formation of frost on Friday morning.
This is due to the influence of an extension of a low-pressure system from the east and a high-pressure system from the west, accompanied by an extension of a low-pressure system in the upper layers of the atmosphere, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The NCM pointed out that rain fell in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Ghannadha in Abu Dhabi, Idhn and Ghalilah in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Aqah in Fujairah, Al Rawdah in Umm Al Quwain, Al Jaddaf, Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, Al Safa, Al Manhad, and Al Khail Street in Dubai, Sahila, Al Dhaid, and Al Madam in Sharjah, and other areas. Frost formed on the top of Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, where the lowest and coldest temperature in the country was recorded on Friday morning at 2.2°C at 6:45am, according to the NCM.
The Agency expects the weather during the week to be clear to partly cloudy and cloudy at times, with low clouds appearing over the sea and some coastal areas.
It will be humid at night in some inland and coastal areas, the NCM reported. Winds are expected to be northeasterly to northwesterly, light to moderate in speed, and occasionally active with speeds of 10 to 25kph amounting to 35 kph and the waves will be moderate to light in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.
