A comprehensive charity Ramadan campaign has been launched by Beit Al Khair Society to assist thousands of deserving families, individuals and residents across the UAE to spend over Dhs65 million.
The campaign under the slogan ‘A Recognized Right’ (Haq Maloom) has kicked off and will run till Eid A Fitr (April), aiming to serve more than 62,000 families and individuals registered in the Society’s database.
Highlighting the details, a press conference was held at the Cultural and Scientific Association (NADWA) on Wednesday and attended by office-bearers of Beit Al Khair Society including Abdeen Taher Al-Awadi, General Manager, Saeed Mubarak Al Muzruei, Deputy General Manager, Mohammad Ali Abo Rohema, Assistant General Manager besides others.
Addressing the media, Abdeen Taher Al-Awadi, General Manager said, “The new Ramadan campaign for the year 1446 AH – 2025 AD, under the slogan ‘A Recognized Right’ will run through to the conclusion of Eid al-Fitr (April). The aim is to bring happiness to more than 62,000 families and individuals as well as those who apply for assistance during the three months of the campaign and are eligible, including needy families, vulnerable groups, and individuals facing financial hardship, both citizens and residents. The Society will also extend its support for who are undertaking ‘FAZAA’ during the Ramadan to uplift their livelihoods, so that they can fully enjoy the spiritual and social atmosphere,” he said.
He further pointed that “With immense pride in Beit Al Khair’s performance and contributions, we seize this opportunity to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the philanthropists, supporters, and partners who have consistently been the driving force behind the Society's achievements. This remarkable progress, which has seen nearly Dhs3 billion in expenditures by the end of this year, would not have been possible without their unwavering generosity and continued support for its projects and initiatives. Once again, we place our full trust in their beneficent hands to propel our new campaign forward, as they have always done, motivated by the desire for multiplied rewards through zakat and charity during this month of compassion, and by their steadfast commitment to social responsibility toward low-income families, vulnerable groups, and the less fortunate in the Emirates of kindness and generosity,” he added.
Saeed Mubarak Al Muzruei, Deputy General Manager commented that “’A Recognized Right’ campaign embodies the Society’s slogan, ‘From UAE to UAE’, with the aim of addressing the needs and improving the livelihoods of the most vulnerable. This highlights its role as a humanitarian institution, after 35 years of dedicated service.”
The Society has achieved distinction by securing first place in the Excellence Award as a leading charitable institution, as well as first place in the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work as the best civil charitable organisation, adopting best practices. Furthermore, it has earned ISO certification for institutional governance for the first time and successfully renewed its ISO certification for social responsibility for the fourth consecutive year.
On this occasion, the Society reaffirms its commitment to the journey of human development, a path that has become a symbol of excellence and leadership in the progress of our blessed union. It also underscores its dedication to achieving sustainability, as emphasised by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may Allah protect him. His Highness urged us to “transform the love of goodness into a sustainable institutional effort, fostering tangible social change and making a real difference in people's lives”.
For this year’s campaign, Beit Al Khair has set a target of spending Dhs 65 million, a significant increase over last year’s Ramadan campaign, which allocated Dhs48,893,824, distributed on projects including Ramadan Meer, Iftar meals, Zakat Al Fitr, Aid for Debtors, Monthly Cash Aid, Monthly Food Support for Families and Emergency Aid.
It is important to highlight that the Preparatory Committee for 'A Recognized Right' campaign, along with the dedicated administrative, technical, and media teams responsible for its execution, has fully prepared for what promises to be a successful and impactful campaign, with Allah's permission.
The experienced field team has also made all necessary preparations to ensure the success of the 'Feeding the Fasting' project, which, during the previous Ramadan, successfully distributed 1,074,670 Iftar meals, benefiting 35,822 fasting individuals daily.
"This year, we are hopeful for even greater impact. For this year, we have identified several centres and points for meal distribution, as well as a number of mosques near workers’ housing areas, which will be announced in due course."
