Rain hits parts of UAE; Al Ain's Rakna area records 5.8°C

Rains of varying intensity fell on separate areas across the UAE on Thursday due to the unstable weather conditions that took place over the past two days.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperature of 5.8°C was recorded in Rakna, Al Ain, at 06:30 and Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah at 06:45 UAE local time.

Rains fell on Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road heading to Sheikh Ammar Bridge in Ajman City, Emirates Road heading to Umm Al Quwain and Al Jazirah Al Hamra, while heavy rains fell on Al Hamraniyah, Digdaga, Khor Khuwair and Wadi Ghalilah in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Tawyeen in Fujairah and Al Hamriyah and Al Dhaid in Sharjah.

Fog formed and continued for 10 consecutive hours between 11pm on Wednesday and 9am on Thursday, causing the horizontal visibility to be lower in general and to be zero in some inland areas. The fog formed over Madinat Zayed, Habshan, Arada, Asab, Arjan, Bu Hasa, Al Wathba, Muzeirah, Razeen and Hameem in Al Dhafra Region and Al Khaznah, Remah and Sweihan in Al Ain.

Friday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy at times with low clouds appearing over some northern and coastal areas but will be humid at night and on Saturday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some inland and coastal areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have moderate to regular waves in the Arabian Gulf and regular waves in the Sea of Oman.

Saturday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy with a rise in temperature but will be humid at night and on Sunday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas.

Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active at times at 10 to 25 and up to 35 km/h, while the sea will have regular to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf and regular waves in the Sea of Oman.

Sunday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy but will be humid at night and on Monday morning with a chance of fog or light fog over some inland areas.
