Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the ‘New Manager’ programme, a strategic initiative aimed at empowering new managers across various sections. The programme provides a blend of comprehensive development modules and interactive sessions, meticulously designed to prepare future leaders.
This programme is part of RTA’s commitment to achieving its ambitious vision and strategic objectives by equipping national talent with the knowledge and tools necessary to assume leadership and supervisory roles. The programme offers advanced training in strategic leadership, innovation, team building, and change management, contributing to enhanced efficiency and professional productivity.
Athari Mohamed, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA, explained: “The launch of the ‘New Manager’ programme reflects our commitment to investing in the development of national talent and driving them towards excellence. It aligns with the directives of our leadership to create an optimal work environment that enhances employees’ capabilities and skills, contributing to exceptional achievements and outstanding results in government performance.
“The programme includes a series of interactive workshops that blend theoretical learning with practical application, in addition to mentoring and guidance sessions aimed at empowering participants to adopt innovative approaches to leadership and decision-making.
“By 2025, the programme will have graduated 50 new leaders, ready to face future challenges and lead their teams with efficiency and creativity. This achievement reinforces Dubai’s position as a global destination for sustainable mobility leadership and underscores our commitment to achieving RTA’s fifth strategic goal: “Future-Proof Organization” concluded Athari.
An earlier report says the total number of passengers using public transport, shared mobility and taxis in Dubai during the New Year’s Eve 2025 celebrations reached 2,502,474, marking a 9.3% increase compared to the 2,288,631 passengers recorded on the same occasion last year.
Across its Red and Green lines, the Dubai Metro accommodated 1,133,251 riders, while the Dubai Tram transported 55,391 passengers. Public buses carried a total of 465,779 passengers, and marine transport services ferried 80,066 commuters. Additionally, e-hailing vehicles served 195,651 users, shared transport vehicles catered to 1,238 riders, and taxis transported 571,098 passengers.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that passenger movement to and from New Year’s Eve celebration venues was seamless and safe, thanks to a comprehensive plan developed in collaboration with relevant entities in Dubai.
