At least 70 children were martyred in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip in the last five days, the civil defence service said on Sunday.
The Israeli shelling hit all parts of the Gaza Strip, it added.
Unicef Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that the new year has brought more death and suffering to Gaza's children due to attacks, deprivation and increased exposure to the cold.
Meanwhile, the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza said on Sunday that 28 people were killed in the Palestinian territory in the past 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 46,565.

The ministry said at least 109,660 people have been wounded in more than 15 months of war between Israel and Hamas.
