Some coastal and inland areas on Sunday witnessed fog and lower horizontal visibility for nine hours between midnight and 9am. The lowest temperature of 3.7˚C was recorded in Rakna in Al Ain City at 6:45am, while the second lowest temperature of 6.2˚C was recorded in Damtha at 6:45am.
The fog formed over Al Wathba, Arjan and Abu Al Abyad island in Abu Dhabi, Sweihan in Al Ain City, and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road between Al Ruwais and Al Ghuaifat, Ghayathi, Bida Da’fas in Al Dhafra Region.
Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists to be careful due to the lower visibility during fog and abide by the varying speed limit as shown in the electronic traffic signs.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the weather on Monday and Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of drizzles on some coastal and northern areas. It will however be humid at night and the following morning in some inland areas with a chance of light fog.
Light to moderate northwesterly winds will blow, turning to active gradually in the afternoon at 15 to 30 and up to 40 km/h, while the waves will be moderate but may become rough in the afternoon in the Arabian Gulf compared to regular ones in the Sea of Oman.
