Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ras Al Khaimah Police, on Thursday inaugurated the Smart Test Village that will also provide smart drivers test services for those applying for driving licence in the emirate.
The Commander stated that the opening of the Smart Test Village and the launch smart drivers test service represent a significant step in the development of police and traffic services in Ras Al Khaimah.
This initiative, implemented in partnership with the General Resources Authority (GRA), is a testament to the commitment of the Ras Al Khaimah Police to deliver exceptional services that enhance the quality of life for the community, the Commander-in-Chief said.
He added that the service is designed to meet the highest standards of accuracy and transparency, ensuring reduced customer journey times and optimal efficiency.
He emphasised the Ras Al Khaimah Police's commitment to enhancing the institution's standing by offering a range of superior services to customers, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Interior. This initiative aims to bolster the institution's reputation and achieve its strategic objectives, thereby contributing to the nation's progress towards advanced positions in various domains. He further underscored the necessity to persist in delivering services that meet the public's expectations, while continuously refining them to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.
The Smart Test Village building witnessed significant development works, which included the installation of essential equipment and the implementation of advanced standards and smart systems. These enhancements enabled the facility to accommodate 150 customers per hour, representing a sixfold increase compared to its previous capacity. The building has been also equipped to handle applicants seeking driving licences for various categories, including light and heavy vehicles, light and heavy buses, light and heavy mechanical devices, and motorcycles.
The smart testing service facilitates the execution of assessments by testers with high precision and efficiency, independent of human intervention. This is achieved through the integration of state-of-the-art automotive technologies, such as advanced cameras and sensors, along with a tablet that enables the identification of the test applicant during the monitoring process. The tracking of the test is conducted by a specialist within a designated monitoring and control centre, and the applicant is notified of the outcome of their assessment via SMS.
