The Al Ain Court for Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases ruled that a number of individuals must return Dhs88,550 to a person who was contacted by an unknown individual via the WhatsApp.
The individual was offered the opportunity to invest a sum of money on the condition that they would return the amount with their profits.
It was subsequently discovered that this was a fraudulent scheme. After conducting a thorough investigation, it was ascertained that the amount had been transferred to their accounts.
The plaintiff initiated legal proceedings against multiple defendants, culminating in a request for remuneration amounting to Dhs89,100.
This request was accompanied by an assertion of obligation on the part of the defendants to cover the associated fees and expenses.
The plaintiff initiated legal proceedings on the basis that an unknown individual had contacted him via WhatsApp, proposing a financial investment opportunity accompanied by the assurance of a return on the plaintiff's capital with interest.
Consequently, the plaintiff proceeded to transfer a sum total of Dhs89,100. Subsequent to thorough research and investigation, it was ascertained that the transferred money had been deposited into the accounts of the defendants.
The defendants were convicted on the basis of this incident, as determined by a criminal judgment.
