Sporadic regions of the country witnessed light precipitation for the second consecutive day on Sunday, a consequence of the country being impacted by an extension of a surface low pressure from the east and a surface high pressure from the west, accompanied by an extension of a low pressure in the upper layers of the atmosphere. This was stated by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Light precipitation observed in Shaam, Ghalilah, Jebel Jais, Jebel Rahba, Al Rams, Wadi Shaha and Julfar in Ras Al Khaimah, as well as other scattered areas.
The lowest and coldest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday 3.8°C at 00:15 am in the UAE, on Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah.
The NCM expects that Monday's weather will be clear to partly cloudy, with increased humidity during nighttime hours and the morning of Tuesday in specific inland areas. Northwesterly winds are expected to range in speed from light to moderate, reaching speeds of 10 to 25 kilometres per hour, with occasional bursts of up to 40 kilometres per hour. The sea is expected to be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
The NCM also expects that the weather on Tuesday will be cloudy in the northern parts, accompanied by humidity during the nighttime and on Wednesday morning. Some inland areas may experience northwesterly winds of moderate to vigorous intensity, reaching speeds of 15 to 30 kilometres per hour, with occasional bursts of up to 50 kilometres per hour. These winds are expected to generate dust and dirt on land, while the sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are forecast to be rough to very rough at times.
The Wednesday’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy at times, humid during the night and on Thursday morning along the coastal and western inland areas. Northwesterly to northeasterly winds, ranging from light to moderate in speed, are anticipated to cause dust and dirt to rise, resulting in a reduction in horizontal visibility in specific eastern and inland areas regions. Winds speed may range between 15 to 25 km/h, with occasional bursts reaching 40 km/h. Additionally, the sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are forecast to be rough to medium.
The weather on Thursday is expected to see a mixture of cloud cover and intermittent dust, with precipitation expected during the night and early morning hours in specific coastal and inland western areas.
Easterly to northeastly winds expected with light to moderate speed. These winds may result in elevated levels of dust, potentially leading to reduced horizontal visibility in certain eastern and inland areas. Additionally, the sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are predicted to be moderate to light, while the Sea of Oman is expected to experience turbulent to medium waves.
