A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of “26 Icons,” a commemorative book celebrating 26 years of GMU’s legacy through the stories of 26 healthcare leaders who have been instrumental in shaping the university’s history and impact.
The book was launched by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, symbolising GMU’s enduring dedication to honouring its trailblazers. This beautifully crafted work serves as a beacon of inspiration for current students and alumni alike.

Recently, Thumbay Healthcare, the largest network of private Academic hospitals, clinics, labs and pharmacies, successfully hosted the Thumbay Doctors Annual Meet 2024, an esteemed gathering of healthcare professionals, visionaries, and leaders from across the region.

The highlight of the evening was the launch of the Thumbay Institute of Elderly and Long-Term Care, a dedicated initiative aimed at addressing the unique healthcare needs of the elderly and providing long-term medical support for patients in the UAE and beyond.

The new institute is designed to serve as a benchmark for geriatric care and rehabilitation in the region, combining cutting-edge facilities with compassionate, patient-centred approaches. Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of Thumbay Group, shared his vision for the initiative during the event: “As we launch the Thumbay Institute of Elderly and Long-Term Care with 100 Dedicated Beds for Longterm care, we reaffirm our dedication to improving the quality of life for the elderly and those requiring extended medical care.”
