President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Dr Shina Ansari, Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the Department of Environment, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
The meeting was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
During the meeting, held at Qasr Al Rawdah in Al Ain, the UAE President welcomed Dr Ansari, who conveyed the greetings of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with his wishes for the UAE’s continued progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Mohamed extended his greetings to President Pezeshkian, wishing Iran and its people continued growth and prosperity.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation to serve mutual interests, particularly in economic, trade, and developmental fields, as well as other areas that promote sustainable development and economic growth in both nations.
The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration between environmental organisations in the UAE and the Department of Environment in Iran, aiming to achieve shared objectives in preserving the environment and ensuring its sustainability for future generations.
The discussion also covered a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mansour and Dr Ansari discussed strengthening bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation, especially in economic, trade, and developmental sectors, to serve the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples’ aspirations for sustainable development and prosperity.
They also explored opportunities to develop cooperation between the relevant environmental and sustainability bodies in the UAE and Iran, aiming to support the countries’ shared visions and goals.
Recently, the UAE and Iran held the tenth meeting of the Joint Consular Committee between the two countries in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of promoting and strengthening their overall cooperation in consular affairs and serve their citizens.
Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chaired the meeting for the Emirati side, and Alireza Bikdeli, Acting Deputy Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs, for the Iranian side.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed a range of common consular issues, plans for their future development, and strengthening cooperation in consular affairs.
Belhoul highlighted the UAE’s readiness to deepen its cooperation in all fields, including the economy and trade, to promote and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries and enhance the region’s security, stability, and prosperity.
Emphasising the UAE leadership’s commitment to positive communication and collaboration, he also stressed the importance of building bridges with countries in the region by solidifying good neighbourly relations to foster peace, stability, development, and prosperity for all.
Belhoul then conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his appreciation for the positive developments in the relations between the two countries.
He also affirmed the UAE’s keenness to enhance the relations between the two countries, reflecting the aspirations and directives of its leadership.
Last year, on behalf of Sheikh Mohamed, Sheikh Abdullah, headed the UAE delegation at the inauguration ceremony of President Pezeshkian.
Sheikh Abdullah attended the inauguration ceremony, which was held at the Iranian Parliament headquarters, in the presence of representatives of a number of countries.
He conveyed the congratulations of Sheikh Mohamed and his wishes to the Iranian President for success in serving his country and achieving the aspirations of its people.
