Abu Dhabi Family and Civil and Administrative Court ordered a man to pay Dhs10,000 as compensation to a woman, as he had insulted and slandered her through an email he sent to her.
In the details, a woman filed a lawsuit against a man demanding that he pay her Dhs150,000 as compensation for the material and moral damages she incurred, as well as paying lawsuit fees and expenses, and attorney's fees.
The plaintiff explained that she had filed a criminal lawsuit against him, and the court fined him Dhs5,000, and the ruling had become final.
The appellee said that it had not been proved that the plaintiff had suffered any harm, adding that he had health and psychological issues.
He allegedly requested the dismissal of the lawsuit and attached a copy of the medical reports and the appointments of his psychiatric clinic.
The court explained that it was evident that the appellee had offended the plaintiff, causing her psychological harm, as stated in the criminal judgment.
Therefore, the court ordered him to pay her Dhs10,000 as compensation for the psychological damages she incurred.
