Abu Dhabi Family Court for Civil and Administrative Cases ordered a man to return another Dhs235,400, and fined him Dhs10,000 as compensation to the latter, from whom he obtained the amount through a bank transfer by mistake.
In the details, a man filed a lawsuit against another, requesting that he be ordered to pay Dhs257,998 and a compensation for material and moral damages in the amount of Dhs20,000.
He explained that the appellee obtained Dhs257,998 from him through a mistaken bank transfer.
The plaintiff added that he informed the police, who arrested the appellee and referred him to the Public Prosecution, and then to the court, that fined him Dhs20,000 and ordered him to pay the due fees.
The ruling allegedly became final as the appellee did not appeal it.
The court clarified that the criminal ruling convicted the appellee of the charge of appropriating Dhs235,400 from the plaintiff, and it became final.
Therefore, the court ordered the appellee to return the amount to the plaintiff.
For the plaintiff's request to order the appellee to pay Dhs20,000 as compensation, the court deemed Dhs10,000 was sufficient compensation for all the material and moral damages incurred by the plaintiff.
