Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, on Tuesday chaired the council’s meeting held at the Ruler’s Office.
The meeting, which was attended by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, discussed a number of governmental issues related to developing businesses and improving services together with a number of decisions and laws that serve the interests of the emirate.
The council issued a decision amending its resolution no. 5 for 2013 regarding municipal fees and fines in the Emirate of Sharjah. According to the decision, a schedule of fees for sewerage services will be added, under which the fee will be 1.5 fils per gallon of consumed water as per the bill issued by Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA).
All citizens of the country are exempt from the fee and the decision will take effect as of April 1, 2025.
The council also approved the draft general organisational structure of Sharjah Directorate of Public Works, which supports the directorate’s work.
