Saif meets Arab ministers in Tunisia

Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met with Major General Imad Al-Tarabulsi, Acting Libyan Interior Minister, on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, which was held in Tunisia.

Sheikh Saif discussed with the Libyan Minister ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and discussed a number of topics related to enhancing Arab security cooperation and joint work for the security of societies.

Sheikh Saif also met Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al Sabah, Minister of Defence of the State of Kuwait, on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, held in Tunisia.

The meeting discussed various topics related to strengthening the existing relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to support joint Arab action. They also exchanged views on current regional and international developments, their impact on the Arab region’s security environment, and the most pressing security challenges.

Separately, Sheikh Saif met Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the sidelines of the session.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Egypt, emphasising the importance of enhancing coordination and joint Arab efforts to strengthen regional security. They also emphasised the need to sustain and expand Arab cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by the current regional landscape.

Sheikh Saif even met Lieutenant General Sheikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the event.

The meeting focused on strengthening the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the UAE and Bahrain and exploring ways to enhance cooperation. The two sides also exchanged views on advancing coordination and joint Arab action, emphasising its importance in achieving common interests, supporting sustainable development, and fostering prosperity for Arab nations and their peoples.

Sheikh Saif also interacted with Margarida Blasco, Minister of Interior of the Portuguese Republic, who is participating as a guest in the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers held in Tunisia.

Sheikh Saif discussed with the Portuguese Minister a number of topics related to enhancing bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Portugal in the security and police fields. They also exchanged views and emphasised the importance of Arab-European relations and ways to develop them in the areas of combating crimes in all their forms, and the need to enhance the exchange of expertise and knowledge for safer societies.
